How will you make an impact?

What will you do?

  • The role has the following responsibilities and authorities as assigned by the Manager:
  • Use skills for highly controlled large-scale and high-through-put cell culture. Isolate cells from primary tissues and generate qualified cell banks.
  • Adapt and complete processes in bench scale and largescale culture systems effective planning, scheduling, and execution of experiments.
  • Perform various types of cell modification with viruses, plasmid DNA and other gene editing platforms.
  • Plan and implement experiments; generate protocols and methods; address and resolve technical issues record and report data.
  • Develop methods and SOPs to help build Master control modules. Assist with necessary technical frameworks required to roll our translational services for cell therapy
  • Strong teamwork with other scientists and functional partners.
  • Work in a matrix environment, interact externally and internally across technical teams, divisions, and functions; collaborate with clients, and support translational services.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocessing, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and/or molecular biology required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of relevant handson experience.
  • Technical proficiency in mammalian cell culture, advanced cell systems and cell modification.
  • Crossfunctional communication, and accountability, ability to prioritize and deliver on sophisticated processes/projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and hands on experience with advanced mammalian cell culture with primary and stem cells.
  • Handson experience with cell biology techniques and cellular assays.
  • Strong communication, receptive to suggestions and feedback, highly collaborative with the ability to adapt to change, work within a team to effect performance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including near and intermediate planning and clear thoughtful written and verbal communication.
  • Skills in Microsoft based programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate/work in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to standard procedures.
  • Follows all company safety, training, quality regulations and procedures.
  • Able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Exercises practical judgment within broadly defined practices, policies.
  • Performs duties independently with direction and mínimal oversight.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize scientific data.

Working Conditions

  • Laboratory environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Repetitive movements of hands, arms, legs, fingers.
  • Exposure to life sciences Biosafety level 2 R&D laboratory and office environment.
  • Flexibility to work after hours depending on business needs.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $73,000.00-$95,000.00.


This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
