Duties:


  • Receive and verify quantity, quality and storage of the supplies.
  • Establish, revise, and cancel stock levels on items based on demand, under supervision of the Lead Technician.
  • Reorder requirements based on demand supported stock levels, expiration dates and thorough knowledge of area requirements and ensure items received are checked for shortage, damage deterioration and price change.
  • Confer with stock and inventory control personnel to advise and exchange data on unit items such as quantity on hand, projected requirements, product expirations, urgency of needs, and alternate resupply actions.
  • Inform and advise on manufacturers, sources, availability, substitute items, available special offers, and Distribution and Price Agreements (Prime Vendor) in an effort to ensure correct and most economical purchases.
  • Check daily and monthly reports to purify documents and identify actions which should be initiated or are pending and require followup.

  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position may require the incumbent to occasionally work during irregular hours such as weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 45 pounds may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ordering, receiving and verifying quantity, quality and storage of the medical supplies. Reviewing supply procedures and policies to make recommendations on equipment and supplies.

  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS04).

Education:

Completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
