Job Description/Duties:
Day to day coordinating and tracking of all incoming, outgoing shipments.
- Proactively identify potential issues and work to resolve quickly, operational focus
- Receive, validate for correctness and distribute preadvise documentation from origin, as required
- Receive, validate for correctness and distribute arrival notices from carrier, as required
- Distribution of pickup numbers, hold/examination notices, freight invoices and other ancillary charges, notices or invoices, as required
- Effectively communicate with Clients, Ocean Carriers regarding corrections to the arrival notice
- Effective and timely coordination of delivery and drayage,
- Effectively communicate with Internal Sales teams/planners regarding shipments status, deliveries, and changes to shipments
- Effectively communicate with Carriers regarding rush request for priority discharge, railloading and any other special instructions
- Provision of commercial invoice/packing slip to customs broker (as requested)
- Effectively and efficiently responding to internal and external client's inquiries; resolving any conflicts or problems that might arise
- Timely update of all mandatory tracking events and adhere to the Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Validate and maintenance of trucking and ancillaries (no freight) charges
- Help implement operational best practices
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Report risk issues to the Manager
- Maintain relations with clients, customs brokers, freight forwarders, trucking companies and others
- Provide a weekly report to the Logistics Manager and Vice President Operations
- Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding sensitive operational, supplier and vendor information
- Transition the function into an ERP/TMS
- Comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines
Requirements of the CSR:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Background in Transportation preferred
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, & WMS)
Pay:
$ $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
