Library Event Planner


The Reed Memorial Library in Carmel, New York is looking to hire a Library Event Planner for a broad range of duties related to all aspects of the library's adult and teen in-house and zoom programs.

The goal is to create memorable experiences for our library patrons.

This includes but is not limited to researching potential events, planning, scheduling and marketing, communicating with vendors and patrons, ordering necessary supplies, overseeing the event day of and performing final follow up tasks.

The Library Event Planner will attend community events to promote our Library Events and services. Responsibilities also include assisting at the circulation desk as needed.

This position may require working during any of the hours that the Library is open, including evenings and weekends.

Although a regular schedule is established, event requirements and the needs of the library may require schedule changes and flexibility.

Approximately a 25 hour work week. Compensation is $21/hour and earned paid time off.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


1-3 years of experience planning and coordinating events including selecting on-site and zoom vendors, adhering to the given budget and ensuring client satisfaction for the scheduled event.

1-3 years of experience with social media (Facebook and Instagram)

1-3 years of experience using Canva, Google Sheets and Docs

1-3 years of experience using online calendaring software


MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Recreation leadership, Communication, Public Relations, Hospitality or related field required.

$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
