Responsibilities:
- Maintains technical expertise and serves as a resource on local, state and federal grant/loan funding programs
- Collaborates with operations, OSP, and finance staff to develop accurate and realistic project budgets for grant proposals, including income and expenditure forecasts
- Coordinates with granting agency program staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting to grant funders, including writing interim and final reports as required
- Coordinates with internal Surf teams for submission of specific content related to their areas of expertise and clearly communicates deadlines and other requirements
- Coordinates with Surf's contracted engineering and consultancy firms, and manages both the contributions from these third parties along with managing and tracking associated costs
- Provides support for grant management activities, including tracking grant deadlines, monitoring grant deliverables, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements
- Provides financial monitoring and analysis of contracts and grants and partners with granting organizations to ensure expenses are being paid according to contract
- Performs postaward accounting of more complex grants; interprets regulations and guidelines of program funding for standard grants and prepares reports for granting agencies
- Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual rights and obligation
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, public administration, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in grant writing, grant management, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals and reports.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with mapping software and databases preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and achieving results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
