Summary Statement:
The Project Engineer is responsible for completing tasks as delegated by the Director of Engineering which include but are not limited to the following: design, permitting, and construction management, and/ or inspection tasks associated with lift station rehabilitation, neighborhood sewering, developer projects, capital projects, and construction repairs; updates to the District Geographic Information Systems (GIS) map and the District's Asset Management Software (EAM).
Key Responsibilities:
The Engineer is responsible for:
·
Following specific test procedures to determine functionality of assets.
·
Following specific inspection procedures to determine condition of assets.
·
Use of Global Information System (GIS) system
·
Use of CMMS system for data entry.
·
Assist with design, review, and inspection of the works of the District in compliance with the District's Manual of Minimum Construction
Standards and Technical Specifications.
·
Design, Permit and Bidding- Assist the Director of Engineering with design, permit and bidding of inhouse District projects including;
remnant property neighborhood sewering, lift stations rehabilitation, emergency repairs, main/ lateral lining.
·
Assist with the evaluation of existing District facilities for prioritization of proposed renewal/ replacement work in conjunction with
Inspections, Collections/ Distribution and construction.
·
Assist with response to design tickets under F.S. Chapter 556 Underground Facility Damage and Prevention and Safety Act.
·
Effectively coordinate with other departments including but not limited to Operations, Collections, Reuse and Construction.
·
Document and map processes related to job responsibilities and apply process improvement techniques to correct inefficiencies and
streamline processes.
·
Represent the District in a positive and professional manner in the community, at public meetings, professional conferences, and to
representatives from other agencies.
·
Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
·
1 to 2 years' experience in utility/ public works.
·
A bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with a major coursework in civil, environmental,
mechanical or industrial engineering.
·
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification preferred, but not required.
