The Unemployment Insurance Branch is looking for a person like you to join our Budget Unit. This position offers great potential for personal and career advancement


Under the direction of the Budget Unit manager in the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Support Division, the incumbent works in a team with other analysts to prepare and work on a variety of assignments in the area of budget and cost analysis to support the UI Branch operations.

Duties include, but not limited to, tracking the UI branch funding authorizations, looking out for funding opportunities from the Department of Labor, preparing branch budget allocations, tracking staff cost and various operating and equipment expenses, projecting branch costs, and monitoring various grants and contract costs.

The incumbent will also be working with the Fiscal Programs Division and other internal branch or external customers on budget inquiries and assignments.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento; though employees may be assigned to report to another UI office closer to their residence.


Telework is currently available; however, employees are required to report to their assigned headquarters five (5) consecutive days per month.

California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Travel and/or accommodation expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.


Position exist in downtown Sacramento, the location provides easy access to light rail, commuter buses, parking garages, and has an on-site ATM and snack shop.

This position is headquartered in Sacramento; though employees may be assigned to report to another UI office closer to their residence.

This position will be on a hybrid telework schedule where the employee will telework and have some of their working days in an EDD UI office closest to your residence.
