Responsibilities:

We currently have an opening for an
Continuous Improvement Manager at our Torrance, California location.

In this position, you will define operational and strategic operational excellence approaches to ensure business success by developing, sustaining and continuously improving business processes and customer satisfaction.

Collect and evaluate operational, service, and performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Determine current performance, forecasts future performance and builds and manages detailed project plans to implement improvements and/or corrective actions.

  • Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and indepth knowledge of project management.
  • Manage large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with mínimal oversight or direction.
  • Communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
  • Make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
  • Provide input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
  • Lead monthly Strategic Goal Deployment status meetings
  • Facilitate and Lead Site Leadership improvement and strategic events
  • Lead largescale, crossfunctional improvement events yielding high dollar savings and efficiency returns
  • Use of Lean tools defining gaps between current state / future state and create action plans
  • Analyze data and metric performance to prioritize improvement events that directly affect favorable division performance
  • Create visual standards and management key performance indicators to drive an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Identifying and facilitating improvement opportunities in transactional and operational areas of the organization using Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen, and Production Planning Process (3P) workshops.
  • Train, educate, and mentor in the use of improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree and 9 years or a Graduate Degree and 7 years of current relevant experience in manufacturing environments including improvement event facilitation, coaching, and leading organization wide improvements.
  • Program and/or project management experience.
  • Black Belt Certification or equivalent in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Skills in data collection, organization and analysis tools, including Minitab, SQL, and/or JMP.
  • Experience with MRP systems and business financial measures.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; a current or previous DOD security clearance is desirable
Preferred

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years in Military, Space or Aerospace manufacturing environments
  • Current security clearance is highly preferred
