Hicks Lightning Protection is currently looking to fill the need of Safety Coordinator for our Arizona/West Coast Division.

The position will be located out of Phoenix, Arizona, but will be responsible for Safety for all West Coast projects.

The Safety Coordinator will be working closely with our Safety Director and responsible for the following:

General Description

  • Assist with the administration of the job site safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conducts Toolbox Topics for Monday morning meetings.
  • Conduct thorough job site walks and conduct safety audits
  • Routinely meet with Electrical Contractor and GC safety personnel to discuss jobsite rules and to create Hicks safety presence
  • Meet with and watch installers work and conduct safety on the job training.
  • Assist in identifying, documenting and recommending mitigation of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
  • Assist with investigating incidents, injuries and property damage; including compiling data, taking photographs and completing proper documentation
  • Create Fall Protection plans for job sites that require them.
  • Monthly, meet with Safety Manager and review all safety audits for the prior month, to look at trends and to highlight the issues happening frequently to create a corrective action plan.
  • Daily travel required up to 100% of the time. Overnight travel required 2535% of the time.
  • Assist Fleet Manager/Safety Director with vehicle maintenance and truck inspections
  • Other duties may be assigned

Work Experience & Other Requirements

  • General construction knowledge required
  • Minimum of 2 years in construction safety position
  • Valid driver's license: ability to pass insurance qualifications (see fleet policy)
  • Have an OSHA 500 certificate if not, must be willing to get (company provided)
  • Have EM385 24 hour fall protection certificate if not, must be willing to get (company provided)
  • Additional safety and equipment certifications/training a plus
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to pass company background check and drug & alcohol test requirements
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as individually
  • Ability to stand up to 1012 hours
  • Ability to individually lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED

Compensation based on experience level.

Pay:
$60, $70,000.00 per year
