OBJECTIVE:

  • The Animal Care Staff Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates activities of animal husbandry and animal care staff.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • 23 years of direct Animal Caretaker NHP supervisory experience.
  • 4+ years of direct NHP Animal Caretaker experience.
  • Ability to write, understand and communicate safeguards and protocols to staff and management.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs, stand or sit over 80%, daily use of hands, fingers and handle objects, tools or controls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and discipline all care and cage wash staff.
  • Maintain hallway, elevator and stairwell cleaning sign off sheets.
  • Collect and distribute room logs.
  • Manage food prep cleaning schedule.
  • Assign weekend personnel schedule and weekend room assignments.
  • Assign room coverage due to call outs and vacations.
  • Manage care staff meetings and notes.
  • Review and sign care staff time sheets.
  • Approve/deny leave requests.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies in rooms for work orders.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Perform weekly room checks.
  • Order food and bedding.
  • Water bottle swabs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
