SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

What We're Seeking:

SWD Inc., located in Addison, IL. is looking for an on-site
Dock Worker/Forklift Operator. This role is Monday-Friday 10am
- roughly 6:30pm (with overtime as required). Employees leave each day once the dock work for the day is completed.


Responsibilities:


  • Accurately load and unload trucks with a lift truck, pallet jack, or twowheel dolly.
  • Correctly weigh incoming material using a floor scale.
  • Identify fasteners or products from the packing slips provided.
  • Locate and ship outgoing material to the appropriate customers.
  • Correctly package ups for shipping.
  • Interact with customers and drivers in a courteous manner. Complete appropriate documents and necessary paperwork.

Qualifications:


  • Being familiar with a sitdown forklift or willing to learn to drive a forklift.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • Positions involve lifting up to 40lbs, standing and walking.
  • SWD Inc. requires a preemployment background check, drug test and physical exam for all positions.
