    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Camp Counselor ("Counselor") is responsible for supervising children, ages 4-14, and providing a safe environment to all program participants. The Counselor is required to participate in all planned daily activities, as well as field trips and special events, and will work in a variety of environments, both indoors and outdoors, for extended periods of time.

    Work is performed under the general supervision of the Coordinator, Recreation Programing. This position does not supervise any other position.

    Work is performed during regularly scheduled hours, and will involve additional hours, as needed. The position is non-exempt under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

    SELECTION GUIDELINES

    The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and, upon commencement of employment, will be subject to employment eligibility verification. In addition, the successful candidate will be subject to a background investigation, a pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol test, and certification of the candidate's compliance with the Township's Nepotism Policy.

    Working hours are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with occasional evenings for special events.
