- Manage a portfolio of clients and serve as the primary point of contact for tax-related matters.
- Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct tax research to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Analyze financial statements and tax documents to identify tax-saving opportunities and optimize tax strategies for clients.
- Assist with tax planning and advisory services, including entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other tax-related transactions.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance on tax compliance and professional development.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as audit and consulting, to provide integrated solutions for clients' financial needs.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide proactive tax advice.
- Assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities when necessary.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax accounting, and contribute to the continuous improvement of firm processes and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem FX Tax, UltraTax, other related software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
