    The Position:
    Housekeeper Part-Time

    Job Summary:
    Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, Housekeepers are responsible for the regular cleaning of buildings.

    This can include, but is not limited to, dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing furniture, cleaning rest rooms, removing trash and simple operation of basic mechanical cleaning equipment.


    Schedule:

    This is a part-time position based in Allentown, PA (weekends only during the academic year, 624 budgeted annualized hours).

    Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:
    Policing public areas and outside of buildingsUpkeep of floors, including dusting, sweeping, mopping and buffingVacuuming rugs and carpetsThorough cleaning and disinfecting of rest room fixturesReplenishing supplies in rest roomsMaintaining above-floor surfaces such as walls, doors, windows and woodworkCleaning and polishing of furnitureCleaning of elevators, stairwells, kitchens and loungesPreparing simple reportsReporting any equipment or facilities in need of repair or replacementReplacing of accessible light bulbsOther duties as assigned by supervisorCharacteristic Non-

    Routine Work:
    This is manual labor associated with the recurring but non-routine cleaning and maintenance of buildings. Employees will be under immediate supervision and will perform various tasks requiring moderate physical strength. This work is normally of the project-type nature.

    Full use of all extremitiesFrequent bending/squatting and kneelingOccasional carrying/lifting of items over 50 pounds (with assistance, as needed)
