Position Overview
We're hiring a Billing Specialist who can help us more effectively accomplish our mission as a company.

That mission is focused on providing care and understanding to our clients, helping them grow independently through compassion, collaboration and communication.

We help children who are struggling with mental health diagnosis' and behaviors that have made a negative impact on their home, social and school environments.

We want to create a world where children with mental health diagnosis' are heard, understood and accepted.

We are seeking a Part-time Billing Specialist to help us navigate the complexities of insurance claims and codes while providing essential support to our staff and clients.


Who You'll Work With
This is an independent role that reports directly to the Executive Director. You'll interact with the Office Manager, Clinical Director, and Clinical Supervisors.


Who We Are


We are a specialized mental health agency dedicated to assisting children in overcoming mental illness challenges through our Intensive In-Home service.

Our approach involves conducting visits directly within the home environment, where we implement targeted interventions addressing behavioral, social, and mental health issues.

Working closely with our young clients, we provide support up to 3-5 times per week, actively involving parents in our services.

Our ultimate aim is to maintain the child within the home environment, minimizing the need for out-of-home placement and fostering stability and growth within the family unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, administration, and healthcare plans.
  • Maintain credentialing and insurance data.
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for services.
  • Follow up on claims and denials, resolving billing issues promptly.
  • Resubmits insurance claims that have received no response or are not on file.
  • Update billing information in the sustem
  • Collaborate with providers to address coding discrepancies.
  • Assists error resolution.
  • Stay updated on billing codes, insurance policies, and regulations.
  • Maintain meticulous records of billing activities and financial transactions
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.

Position Requirements & Responsibilities:


  • High School Diploma
  • Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., Certified Professional Biller).
  • At least one year of experience with Medicaid billing for mental health services.
  • Knowledge of managed care contracts and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret medical records for billing purposes
  • Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health records systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication
  • Experience with appeals and denials management in healthcare billing.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Day and Evening Hours
  • Other duties as required

Job Type:

$ $22.00 per hour
