    Description
    Controls Engineer – Malvern - £40,000-£45,000
    Controls Engineer required to join a leading engineering company, specialising in test automation technology, based in Malvern.

    This role would be ideal for someone who holds a degree in robotics, mechatronics or automation engineering who has previous experience of controls and automation systems with a good understanding of C# and Visual Studio.

    The Role:
    Determining the best way to implement bespoke automation and control process from customer supplied requirements and specifications.

    Developing C# control software. Knowledge of VB6/VBA is useful for supporting legacy systems.

    Interfacing to 3rd party equipment for integration within C#. Knowledge of protocols such as Ethernet, Serial, Ethercat, CAN, AK protocol (over Ethernet/Serial) is useful.

    Developing automation sequences using standard editor tools.

    Analysing engineering systems to advise the best methods of automation.

    Analysing post test diagnostics logs to advise fault rectifications within complex engineering systems.

    Create test and acceptance procedures.

    Creating custom system functionality based on customer requirements.

    Frequent site visits to customer for installing, testing and documenting the solution, within the UK and globally as required.

    Work with the Commissioning engineers and project/site managers to achieve sign off from the customer.

    Source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket and Jira.


    Requirements:
    Will have a degree in robotics, Mechatronics, Automation engineering or similar.

    Will have at least 3 years of experience in a hardware based automation role.

    Experience with PLC systems (particularly safety PLC systems) is desirable, but not essential.

    Good understanding of C# and Visual Studio.

    Happy to work away from home during the working week as required.

    Full UK driving licence.

    Indefinite UK right to work.
