    Clinical Director - Full Time


    Next Wind Recovery is a New Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program, located in Northern NewJersey; dedicated to providing higher quality of care at the outpatient level.

    Next Wind is not just another clinic...

    Rather, Next Wind is a comprehensive treatment facility, combining evidence-based practices with holistic modalities, as well as the traditional 12-steps; taking a whole person approach in healing the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of each client.

    The Clinical Director is the leader of the Clinical Services department and a member of the Management Team. He/ She is responsible for the design, review, implementation and modification of all clinical services.

    In addition, the Clinical Director is responsible for the provision and integrity of all clinical and quality assurance services delivered to all clients in addition to the management of all clinical staff members and subordinate managers.

    The Clinical Director reports to the Chief Clinical Officer/Administrator and Quality Assurance Director.

    We are looking to fill this position IMMEDIATELY, with availability to start ASAP.


    Essential Functions:

    • Provides clinical supervision to master's level staff responsible for delivering services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
    • Conducts regular case conferences with clinicians and interns for supervision and consultation; reviews psychiatric case records and selects cases for discussion; supervises staff in assessing social, emotional and economic causes of problem behavior and mental or emotional disorders and in developing and modifying treatment and approves alternative plans; supervises consultation activities of employees.
    • Conducts clinical staff meetings and provides training; schedules staff to provide for clinic coverage; evaluates work performance; assists in disciplinary proceedings
    . Trains all facility staff to meet, both, State and accreditation requirements

    • Personally, maintains a small caseload and handles some of the more complex cases; performs a variety of direct clinical, diagnostic, treatment, and outreach services. Runs various SUD/MH groups for the PCP, IOP, and OP levels of car
    • Oversees client services and ensures compliance with program standards, related federal, state and local regulations and service delivery objectives.
    • Audits client records. Responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly chart audit overview of accurate, concise documentation by clinical staff. Ensures medical necessity is well documented to meet insurance standards.
    • Participates in the establishment or revision of policies, procedures, guidelines, goals and objectives.
    • Provides documentation training to those who may need additional structure and education in ASAM criteria/dimensions.
    • Organize and participate in Family Enrichment and Education Activities.
    • Responsible for the recruitment, retention, discipline, evaluation, and training of all clinical department staff members.
    • Participate, as part of the senior management team, agency planning and implementation of new programs or clinical services.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must meet one of the following MINIMUM educational requirements:
    a. A New Jersey licensed psychologist who possesses a Certification of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association, College of Professional Psychology;

    b. A New Jersey licensed clinical social worker, who is a certified clinical supervisor by The Certification Board;

    c. A New Jersey licensed professional counselor, or licensed marriage and family therapist, who is a certified clinical supervisor by The Certification Board of New Jersey licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor who, in addition, holds a Master's degree recognized by the New Jersey Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners, Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee, Division of Consumer Affairs, New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety;

    d. A New Jersey licensed physician, certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, or a Board-certified psychiatrist;

    e. A New Jersey licensed advanced practice nurse who is a certified clinical supervisor by the Certification Board;

    f. Or is an LCADC with a CCS


    • Advanced knowledge of Self-Help treatment model and its application in outpatient treatment.
    • Specific knowledge helpful in process addiction and treatment resources.
    • Advanced assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning and documentation skills.
    • Knowledge of treatment and referral community in New Jersey
    • Knowledge of dual diagnosis treatment practices including non-pharmacological symptom management techniques.
    • Current certification in First Aid/CPR
    • Advanced knowledge of HIPAA and CFR 42 requirements.
