Research Coordinator Job Description
Philadelphia FIGHT was initially founded in 1990 as a comprehensive AIDS service organization.

Today we are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with clinical sites that provide state-of-the-art culturally competent primary care, advocacy, social services, consumer education and outreach for patients in need regardless of HIV or insurance status.

Qualifications:

The Research Coordinator will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a science-related field; graduate degree (MA/MS, MPH, RN, etc.) preferred.

They will also have 2+ years of professional research experience and possess a general knowledge base in science, medicine, record maintenance, and data entry.

Proficiency in Medidata/Rave, ERT, RedCap, Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary. Must demonstrate the ability to understand the overall purpose of research and function of the Institutional Review Board. Must be able to demonstrate judgment, patience, integrity, organization, and prioritization in multi-task environment. Need to have attention to detail, dependability, listening and communication skills, and flexibility. Must have cultural competency.


Responsibilities include:


  • Accept the obligation to conduct the all research in accordance with federal research regulations (21 CFR50), GCP (Section 4).
  • Participate in protocol related conference calls and travel to Investigator Meetings for new protocols when applicable.
  • Attend research team meetings.
  • Ensure all Informed Consents are completed properly, when applicable and allowed per Pennsylvania state law.
  • Responsible for reporting adverse events and serious adverse events to the PI or Sub-I for assessment and treatment.
  • Communicate with PI and all Sub-Is regarding the clinical care of research patients.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of research patients with the medical providers.
  • Phlebotomy and Blood Processing, including shipment and transport of clinical samples.
  • Source documentation and Case Report Form completion in accordance with the FIGHT Research SOP. Complete all documentation as assigned, including source documentation in study or clinic charts, as directed, complete case report forms in a timely and accurate manner, and respond to and resolve queries from the study sponsor and regulatory agencies under the direction of the Research Supervisor.
  • Complete drug receipt confirmation and dispensation per individual study guidelines.
  • Regulatory Binder maintenance.
  • Resolve all data queries in a timely manner.
  • Understand regulatory obligations including those related to informed consent, confidentiality, and study specific procedures, and alert the PI to any protocol deviation/violations.
  • Perform clinical assessments (, vital signs, anthropometric measurements, questionnaires).
  • Maintain study logs, as directed by the study Principal Investigator, including study logs (financial purposes), electronic logs, screening and enrollment logs.
  • Participate in patient recruitment including chart reviews and database query reviews and perform such other patient recruitment tasks as the Principal Investigator assigns.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Good Clinical Practices, maintenance of confidentiality, and informed consent. Exercise good judgment in bringing any issues necessary to the attention of the Principal Investigator.

Minimal local travel required between Philadelphia FIGHT Health Centers.

M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm
