RAFT is currently in search of a dynamic
Summer Program Site Director who thrives on addressing challenges as opportunities and possesses a passion for working with students in grades K-8.

Reporting to the RAFT Summer Program Leadership team, the Summer Program Site Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the camp.

The paramount focus is on creating a secure and enjoyable environment for the students while upholding the camp's established guidelines and standards.


In this role, you will leverage your program management expertise, specifically in working with K-8 students, to contribute to RAFT's mission of bringing the joy of learning through hands-on STEAM project kits.

As part of our summer program team, you gain access to professional development training that inspires educators with innovative instructional ideas and hands-on learning materials.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Staff Management: Foster a positive environment by providing feedback and necessary training to empower staff to maximize their potential in their respective roles.
  • Review and approve timecards

Day-to-Day Camp Operations:


  • Understand and oversee the implementation of RAFT summer camp guidelines and standards, including Emergency, First Aid, Mandated Report, and Disciplinary Procedures.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records, medical information, authorized pickup lists, and other pertinent details.
  • Provide leadership to ensure smooth camp operations, encompassing checkin/out processes, class activity facilitation, outdoor activities, survey collection, and the lastday showcase.
  • Keep the camp leadership team wellinformed.

Family Communication:


Facility Maintenance:


  • Act as the main point of contact for all facilityrelated concerns.
  • Partner with the site IT coordinator to address and resolve issues with class equipment, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Coordinate with the site janitor to uphold cleanliness standards in classrooms.

Training and Coordination:


  • Engage in a minimum of 9 hours of onboarding training, professional development, and staff meetings before the commencement of camp.
  • Participate in aftercamp debrief sessions.
  • Fulfill other coordinating responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Enthusiastic and reliable servantleader.
  • Genuine interest and experience working with young children in a childcare/education environment.
  • Commitment to a minimum of six weeks, Monday through Friday, with onsite presence every day during camp for 8 hours.
  • Ability to learn and utilize cloudbased program management software.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing needs in a learning environment.
  • Proactive problemsolving skills.
  • Strong team player with reliable, professional skills for training and task execution.
  • Obtain TB Risk Assessment & Fingerprint clearance (covered by RAFT).

Education and/or Experience:


  • Two years of student program management experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
