The Assistant Director for Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) and Operations is responsible for assisting in the administration and organization of a comprehensive student engagement program.

The Assistant Director r is responsible for the management and oversight of the Collegiate Link program.


You are:


  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in written form required
  • Able to work with academic departments and other student support service areas required
  • Able to work effectively with a diverse student population required
  • Able to multitask and manage different projects required
  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends required
  • Able to work in a "team orientated" office

You will:


  • Approve RSO events in our events management system
  • Meet with RSO's to ensure they are adhering to university policy and procedures, and city and state guidelines relating to event management; Oversee the tracking and approval of RSO travel
  • Serve as point of contact for RSO inquiries; Oversee updating and editing the RSO Handbook
  • Serve on the Events Steering Committee
  • Management of the Vehicle Use Policy administration
  • Perform social and academic checks for student leadership positions
  • Coordinate the purchases and disbursements of student prizes and gift cards; Follow up with Recognized Student Organizations on fundraising monies
  • Advise Chariot Yearbook with the development and facilitation of all events
  • Oversight of set ups for all Orientation programs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the Center for Student Engagement, Leadership and Orientation

You need:


  • Master's degree in higher education, student development or similar field
  • 2+ years professional experience in student affairs, student engagement or similar field
  • Knowledge of contemporary higher education principles, practices, and procedures
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 products required
  • Understanding of webbased higher education software such as Anthology/Campus Labs Engage and Baseline, Slate, and Banner preferred
  • Understanding of learning management software such as Canvas preferred
  • Understanding of webbased event manage software such as EMS, Social Tables, and Eventbrite preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license
