Senior Data Architect (Data Warehouse/Analytics/Cloud Solutions)

Location:
Torrance, CA (this is an onsite position)

Contract Duration:
Fall March 31, 2025 with possibility of an extension

This position is focused on supporting Business Intelligence and all the Data Warehouse Reporting Analytics efforts .This Data Architect will be a SME for moving all the data from legacy and data warehouse on prem to cloud solutions comprised of both AWS and Azure.

This Data Architect will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of analytics projects from inception to completion for financial application related initiatives.

This Architect will define project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.

Tasks will include the following:

Team Management:
Manage a team of data analysts, data engineers, and BI specialists, providing direction, coaching, and support.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.

Technical Expertise:
Utilize technical expertise to guide the team in designing and implementing data solutions.
Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide hands-on support when needed.
Design and implement ETL processes and data pipelines.
Lead troubleshooting and performance-tuning activities.

Project Planning and Documentation:
Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation and task assignments. o Ensure that projects are on track, within budget, and meet predefined success criteria.
Experience in Agile delivery methodology is a plus.
Maintain project documentation, including requirements, design documents, and project status reports.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and create data models.

Quality Assurance:
Ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability in all analytics projects.
Implement best practices and quality control measures. Risk Management.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Proactively address issues and challenges that may arise during project execution.

Knowledge Sharing:
Promote knowledge sharing and best practice adoption within the team and across the organization.
Stay up to date with the latest BI features and best practices.

Required Skills and Expertise:
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Must be a Senior Data Architect who has a minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.

Must Have Skills:

Strong Technical Background:
Minimum 7 years of proficiency in

AWS Solutions and Technologies , including

Amazon Redshift

and

AWS Gluebility to conduct

code reviews

and write complex features if required.

Technical Leadership:

Capable of leading a team of developers and provide technical guidance .Deep understanding of project workflows and the ability to execute projects from a technical standpoint.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proven experience in a project management role with a

focus on analytics and data-driven project

support.

Must have knowledge in Data Warehousing and Analytics on Cloud SolutionsStrong technical background with proficiency in data analytics tools and languages (e.g., Database, SQL, Informatica, Power BI, Business Objects) and AWS Solutions and Technologies (e.g.

Redshift, Glue).

Must have a strong expertise in all the following technologies:

WSRedshift (database for AWS)Glue (ETL for AWS)Power BI (reporting tool for AWS)

Skilled in designing and implementing ETL processes and data pipelines.
Experience with data engineering and ETL processes, including data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques.

Solid understanding of data governance, data security, and data privacy best to balance technical and project management responsibilities effectively.

Desired Skills and Expertise:
WS certifications in data engineering is a definite plus.
Experience in BI Technologies (Database, ETL, Reporting) and AWS Cloud solutions is a plus.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Scrum Agile) is a plus.
