For community-based older adults, we offer adult day health care and home care services to help them remain in the community with the care and support they need.

Both our Manhattan and Westchester facilities are accredited by the Joint Commission, and last year, our Manhattan facility earned the highest possible assessment by U.S.

News & World Report for its rehabilitation program.

Our Manhattan skilled nursing facility is the only one in NYC to staff full-time Mount Sinai physicians and nurse practitioners.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and organizational need.

The New Jewish Home (TNJH) seeks a full time Development Coordinator to join our team. The Development Coordinator will sit in our Upper Manhattan location.


Job Summary:

The Development Coordinator works across the Development Department to advance the organization's fundraising and marketing initiatives by supporting department leaders in developing and executing fundraising plans, maintaining donor relationships and securing new ones, and creating collateral.

Chief Development Officer


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and follow up on meetings with donors, board and committees, including writing correspondence and meeting materials
  • Conduct research and create strategies for donors, prospects and legacy funding
  • Ensure effective use of donor management system—in partnership with outside firm—to measure and achieve development goals
  • Coordinate gift processing, acknowledgements, pledge documents and contracts, pledge reminders, stewardship reports, and other queries and reports.
  • Recommend development process modifications
  • Interact with potential donors and the general public to secure and document gifts and support events
  • Assist with creating budgets based upon anticipated fundraising results
  • Work with Institutional Giving to manage funder portals and to submit effective grants and reports
  • Create effective presentations and collateral for donors, prospects and board committee
  • Researches, track, build relationships, and solicit grateful patients
  • Coordinate stewardship gatherings and support other events, including by securing sponsorships and staff contributions
  • Solicit needed inkind donations
  • Provides customer service to donors and prospects
  • Support fundraising goals and identifies new funding opportunities
  • Manage the operations of a pipeline of donors to welcome supporters in at every level and further leverage their generosity
  • As work load allows, grow a small portfolio of individual donors and vendors
  • Other responsibilities as required

Specialized Skills and Competencies:


  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • The Coordinator must be comfortable and confident speaking and interacting with potential and existing donors.
  • Ability to work with TNJH leadership, program staff, nursing and administrators to develop fundraising opportunities.
  • Detailoriented, with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering assignments within deadlines.
