Job Summary_**:


The Benefits and LOA Administrator works within Janitronics Human Resources Department and is responsible for planning and administering employee benefit and leave of absence programs.

The Benefits and LOA Administrator communicates with employees, resolves benefits and LOA-related issues, and collaborates with other departments and external vendors.

The position also initiates leave of absences for employees, coordinates Open Enrollment, assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains employee databases and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices.

Core Responsibilities:_

Benefits Administration

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, health savings accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing, including enrollments, terminations, and claims.
  • Advise and inform employees of the details of the company's benefit programs.
  • Maintain and regularly update employee benefits/record filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Collaborate with payroll and ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administer COBRA.
  • Liaise with vendors for new and existing plans.
  • Evaluate the efficiency and value of current benefit programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Leave of Absence Administration

  • Administer and support leave of absence programs (sick leave, accident leave, short/long term disability, FMLA, state specific disability and paid family leave, workers comp).
  • Communicates with employees regarding their need for leave and/or work accommodations.
  • Ensures employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice requirements to qualify and take leave.
  • Monitors and tracks absence status, documentation and return to work dates.
  • Advises supervisors and managers of leave polices and state laws.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in developing modified work schedules or other accommodations for returning from leave.
  • Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and provider regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:_

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, finance, or a related field. Associates degree with substantial relevant experience will be considered.
  • 2 years of experience as a benefits administrator or in a similar role.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred.
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits software.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite and benefits administration software skills
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrier products and services
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

$50, $65,000.00 per year
