The study of Industrial Engineering combines technical and business functions within a company. Due to this dual competence, industrial engineers are primarily employed at interfaces between technology and business, such as in sales, purchasing, or production control. In addition to approximately 50% solid engineering knowledge and 30% business knowledge, the profile of an industrial engineer is rounded out by approximately 20% key qualifications (e.g. rhetoric, presentation and moderation techniques) and foreign languages (English). Therefore, students of Industrial Engineering should have an interest in technical and business relationships.
