Position:
Low-Voltage Installation Technician**Our team seeks a motivated, knowledgeable, and talented Low-Voltage Installation Technician to provide the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance of cabling & fiber optic infrastructure and field devices pertaining to electronic systems.
You will be an integral part of the team and will aid the company in achieving its mission of protecting the people, facilities and assets of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Installation of limited energy cabling infrastructure enterprisewide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks and intrusion detection systems
- Testing of Cat 5e, Cat 6, Fiber Optic, Coaxial and various low voltage cabling.
- Terminate fiber and copper cabling according to industry standards.
- Documents installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records.
- Assist technicians, installers and other helpers on installation, service and enterprisewide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks and intrusion detection systems.
- Lean how to install, maintain or repair enterprisewide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks and intrusion detection systems.
- Installation, service, troubleshooting, and programming of commercial / enterprisewide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks and intrusion detection systems
- Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Assist postsales engineering / project management as necessary with technical issues / redesigns
- Complete internal projects as assigned
- Assist operations team with I.T. field support
- Maintain detailed and accurate notations of configuration management of client sites.
- Cultivate client relationships into partnerships.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED required. Advanced Technical School Training in a related field preferred.
- Valid and current Driver's License and clean driving record
- Low-Voltage: 2 years (preferred)
- 3+ years of related experience
- Strong mechanical skills
- Knowledge of cable terminations, color codes and installation standards.
- Knowledge of types of telecommunication cables and equipment along with appropriate usage.
- Knowledge of types of anchoring hardware along with appropriate usage for specific wall/ceiling surfaces.
- General construction skills for the installation of field devices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside the organization.
- A selfstarter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Possess excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Other duties as required or assigned by company management.
- Increase job knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities, attend conferences, and read professional industry publications
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Regular and Timely Attendance
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours) without a break
- Position requires bending, twisting, stooping and climbing
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Position requires pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally
- May be exposed to temperature changes, heights, small spaces including confined spaces
- Ability to distinguish colors and use hands for repetitive fine manipulation frequently
- Must pass initial and random substance abuse tests & background checks
