Job Description:

  • Position Summary:
  • This position supports the overall administration of the Department of Foreign Policy and Global Security (FPGS) in the School of International Service. This position reports to the Academic Program Coordinator and works closely with the Undergraduate Faculty Coordinator (UFC), the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS), and the Department Chair. The position assists the Academic Program Coordinator with daily responsibilities related to the department's administration.
  • Duties will include:
  • Proposing and developing content for social media outreach to current and prospective students at both the graduate and undergraduate level and for the Department's website.

Participating in summer-time graduate student recruitment and anti-melt activities; planning department-level orientation events; and supporting/staffing the department's involvement in SIS-wide orientation events.

Helping with general office support, including fulfilling administrative tasks, maintaining, and giving access to the suite, and providing in-person support. Collecting, analyzing and reporting data, using tools such as Qualtrics and Excel for assessment and strategic planning. Tracking and updating alumni contact information, with a focus on new alumni

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Customer Service focus.
  • Comfortable moving event tables/chairs and able to lift 25 pounds
  • Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with the graduate programs administered by FPGS (US Foreign Policy and National Security, International Affairs Policy Analysis, and Masters in International Studies (International Student Track)) preferred
  • Additional Information:
  • Hybrid Work modality (on campus 3 days, virtual 2 days).
  • Prior experience with social media is a plus. Prior experience with web design is a plus.
