- Produce and prepare food for events and functions to comply with the menu and recipes.
- Display prepared food with an artistic mind and following recipes and assuring correct amounts are served per person.
- Check food deliveries for accuracy as required.
- Let Catering Manager know when items need to be ordered or running low on.
- Ensure all stock is stored appropriately using FIFO (first in, first out) rotation and labeled correctly with dates when storing.
- General kitchen cleaning to follow cleaning schedule.
- Dishwashing as needed, both manually and by machine.
- During event making sure food is out in a timely matter and you are watching the food and replenishing when needed during events.
- Be able to work on the fly and be patient when events do not go as planned.
- Treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
- Maintain a safe work environment according to federal and state regulations.
- Positively respond to direction and requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors, managers, and guests.
- Take initiative to help any area of the Catering Department when possible.
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested of a Catering Assistant.
