As an Entry-Level Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for healthcare services.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure all information is uptodate and accurate
• Verify insurance coverage via online portals and by calling insurance companies
• Preparing daily patient encounter forms
• Obtain prior authorizations when necessary
• Assist answering incoming calls during busy periods
• Fill out forms, upload or fax them, and file them in the patients' electronic health records
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD9, ICD10) to diagnoses and procedures
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and disputes
