Description
At the Faculty of Geosciences and Geography at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, a professorship in the civil service for life (salary group W2 NBesO) is to be filled at the Geographical Institute at the earliest possible date:
W3 Professorship for Geographical Resource and Environmental Conflict Research (f/m/d)

The incumbent will represent the field of Geographical Resource and Environmental Conflict Research in research and teaching.

We are looking for a person who can analyze current spatial conflicts in the context of resources and the resulting forms of environmental degradation and associated socio-economic impacts in a differentiated manner, while also bringing in solution competence in terms of sustainable resource management.

Another focus is on imparting argumentation skills, especially in the geography teacher training programs (two-subject bachelor's and master's of education).

The professorship strengthens the research and teaching focus on the interaction between humans, the environment, and geo-resources in the Faculty of Geosciences and Geography and forms a key pillar in the new faculty focus on "Geo-resources and Sustainability".

It also serves as a bridge to neighboring disciplines in the social and educational sciences.

We are looking for an internationally visible, team-oriented, and dedicated personality who works across disciplinary boundaries, actively seeks collaborations, and contributes to networking within and outside the faculty.

In addition to research in Germany or Europe, a research focus in the Global South is also desired. The university places value on research-oriented teaching.
