Job Description:

Position Summary


Responsible for managing and monitoring eviction and collection matters for the Company and ensuring such matters are moving efficiently through the litigation process.

Day to day duties include interaction with the Company's property management department, accounting department, leasing department, asset management department, other members of the legal department, and outside counsel; defaulting tenants and, if necessary, sending lease documents to outside counsel to commence litigation; updating bad debt reserves and timely contributing to internal reporting/tracking requirements; engaging outside counsel and managing a collection/eviction litigation caseload.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform eviction and collection work for a defined set of shopping centers.
  • Master basic legal principles related to collection, eviction, retail bankruptcy, leasing.
  • Engage and manage outside counsel, as necessary, to litigate collection/eviction matters.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and processes of the Company, the Legal Department, and the Asset Recovery function.
  • Attend cross functional group meetings on behalf of Asset Recovery and/or Litigation.
  • Other litigation duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's preferred 2 years' experience
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Solid grasp of basic accounting and math principles
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and exemplary work ethic.
  • Computer literacy with emphasis on MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
