Essential Responsibilities:
Student Support:
- Collaborates closely with special education teachers to provide students with IEPs academic, behavioral and socialemotional supports
- Works with a student in a 1:1 capacity, providing push in/pull out academic support and other academically related services embedded in the IEP
- Assess students and monitor student data.
- Monitors the individual student in the classroom and/or during break and lunch activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
- Assists in maintaining appropriate student behavior
- Provide feedback for IEPs.
- Attend IEP meetings as a participant
- Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with staff members
Clerical:
- Assists with clerical duties such as record keeping, filing, correcting papers and data collection
- Assists special education teachers as required to support meeting student learning needs
- Performs other related duties as assigned/required by teacher(s), site or district administrator(s)
Training and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred; some paid or volunteer experience working with children in any educational or child care setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
