    AFP Management is currently growing and looking to expand in the Miami / Ft. Lauderdale area. Currently we are looking for an experienced Hotel Full-Service Branded Assistant General Manager. Applicants must have prior Hotel Experience as a Asst. General Manager at a smaller, Branded Full-Service Hotel. Salary Range is based on experience with Pay Range from $105,000 to $115,000. Please review all requirements for the position before applying. Currently, no relocation is being offered for the role.

    Job DescriptionSUMMARY

    The Assistant General Manager is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and team member satisfaction and effectiveness and efficiencies. The Assistant General Manager will assist in the coordinating, directing and managing day-to-day operations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Work directly with the Executive Team, Department Heads to manage all activities of the property including all operational divisions and profit/loss controls.
    • Role includes working with the Property General Manager on goal setting, motivation/ discipline of employees, labor expense control, control of general expenses and resolving guest related issues in accordance with the company goals.
    • Coordinate, direct and manage the hotel operation to achieve maximum profitability, ensure guest satisfaction, protect the financial aspects of the business, and maintain the building.
    • Direct and manage property operations to assure optimum performance and continual improvement in the five Key Result Areas (guest service, employees, sales/marketing, property appearance, and profit/financial control).
    • Engages in an overview of HR matters with respect to all operational departments including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, coaching/counseling, and performance appraisals.
    • Assist the Property General Manager to ensure that product quality standards are met in all areas of the hotel as it relates to the appearance, levels of maintenance and cleanliness; establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the hotel.
    • This position is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction and effectiveness and efficiencies.
    • Oversees the guest service function to ensure corrective action is taken to resolve guest complaints and ensure superior guest service is delivered
    • JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Managing budgets and financial plans and controlling expenditure
    • Oversees hotel operations under the direction of the General Manager
    • Ensures overall guest satisfaction to drive brand metrics
    • Ensures compliance with brand standards
    • Maintaining statistical and financial records
    • Setting and achieving sales and profit targets
    • Recruiting, training, and monitoring staff
    • Planning work schedules for individuals and teams
    • Meeting and greeting customers
    • Dealing with customer complaints and comments
    • Addressing problems and troubleshooting
    • Ensuring events and conferences run smoothly
    • Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations, and furnishings
    • Dealing with contractors and suppliers
    • Ensuring security is effective
    • Carrying out inspections of property and services
    • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations
    • Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
    • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
    Job RequirementsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    • Required 5+ years as Assistant General Manager/Hotel Director/Director of Operations (Rooms, F&B background) in a 3-star and above rated branded full service property.
    • Four-year degree in hospitality or another business-related field preferred.
    • Prior Leadership Roles in Front Office and Housekeeping Operations in a Full-Service Branded Hotel is preferred.

    • Communication
      • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, effectively with guests, vendors, and co-workers
      • Must read, write and speak the English language fluently.
      • Knowledge of Spanish helpful
    • Computer skills
      • Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel
