Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is a freestanding, 122 bed facility specializing in general adult psych, adolescents, geriatric, and women's services.

The hospital is located in southwest Houston serving the Houston and surrounding communities.

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is conveniently located between the Galleria and Meyer land shopping districts, and is only minutes away from the Houston Medical Center, Downtown, and Midtown.

Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health disorders.


Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking an Assitant Manager-Patient Access to support the delivery of quality services and the financial goals and objectives of the organization by supporting the patient billing, follow-up, and up-front collections of in-house patient accounts.

**_
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES_**- Verify insurance benefits for patients being admitted into the hospital for care.

  • Respond to VOB assists from Intake Department in a timely manner.
  • Complete precertifications on a timely basis and in accordance with insurance requirements.
  • Complete the telephone profile of insurance benefits in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure insurance coverage by telephone; resolve any issues with coverage and escalate complicated issues to appropriate parties.
  • Contact the appropriate agencies to obtain treatment authorization numbers, reimbursement structure, and patient eligibility.
  • Audit demographic data for errors and make corrections.
  • Assign the correct financial class and adjust financial class as required.
  • Maintain good communication with the Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff as required and serve as facility insurance eligibility expert.

Qualifications:

_ Education:
_
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.


_ Experience. _A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a health care billing or related field, or any combination of education, training, or experience in a health care business office environment. Experience with insurance billing, computer and business software programs (Excel) preferred.

Required to work flexible hours, occasional overtime, and weekends.
