department out of the North Shore, MA. This is an in-office and in the field position (not remote).

Job Purpose:


The role holder is responsible for the safety, reliability, security, and integrity of the electric distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personal in order to complete job tasks while complying with Company, departmental, and Regulatory policies, procedures and statutory requirements.

Supervise inertial personal to assure the timely and cost-effective completion of work within an area of responsibility. Provide emergency response and supervision of personal engaged in a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.
  • Oversee the Overhead Electric operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized in order to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost.
  • Ensure supervised Overhead Electric teams comply with safety standards, polices, and processes in order to ensure safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
  • Review, ensure accuracy and execute the approval of area purchase orders, invoices, and payroll activities.
  • Execute all work tasks in Compliance with all Company, Federal and State policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build good working relationships with internal and external customers and manage day to day relationship with them in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions within National Grid policies and processes.
  • Monitor performance of allocated Overhead staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline, and poor standards of work in order to ensure that work is performed effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as the Overhead first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders and outside agencies in order to provide support and ensure National Grid deliver against service level agreement.
  • Promote and implement Overhead Electric best practices in order to ensure all work tasks achieve high productivity and low costs.
  • Ability to work offhours and on call rotations. This includes requiring travel outside the division for emergency assignments.
**Supervisory/Interpersonal

  • Experience Required**:
  • Experience of leading a team involved in field operation activities is preferred.
  • Encourages and empowers others by offering help and advice, and building a common understanding of needs and shared goals.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with internal and external customers.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related area and/or 25 years' of related experience, or committed to on the job training programs with practical experience of methods, processes and techniques relevant to area or discipline.
  • Ability and knowledge to develop standard operating procedures for field personal to perform overhead electric work and connections on energized distribution/transmission facilities preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License with a Safe Driving History Required

$101,000 - $119,000
