Your Role

As the Payroll Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating and processing all aspects of staff payroll, including system maintenance, implementing process and system changes, and the preparation of all regulatory payroll filings for the agency.

This position is also responsible for reviewing and processing all employee Time and Attendance data within the Paycor system for each pay period.


Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly staff payroll. Review data in the timekeeping system for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate amounts for nonexempt employees. Work with supervisors to make any needed corrections to employee timecards. Transfer data in the timekeeping system to Paycor for payroll processing in a timely manner.
  • Calculate amounts for any new deductions (i.e., child support, wage garnishments and miscellaneous deductions) and enter in payroll software in a timely manner.
  • Maintain payroll cost center allocations and any changes due to agency restructuring, staff transfers, temporary coverage (vacation/leave) as needed.
  • Train and support staff on use of timekeeping system.
  • Maintain direct deposit information for transmission to Paycor.
  • Prepare biweekly summary of staff hours actualtobudget report by cost center and distribute to supervisors.
  • Maintain and file all payroll registers and reports. Prepare/review all required monthly, quarterly, and yearend payroll reports, including 941 X's, and submit to regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Complete wage and employment verification forms as needed.
  • Complete all wage assignments in a timely and accurate manner, including preparing check requests for payments and required followup.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma is required, with a minimum of two years of direct payroll processing experience.
  • General knowledge of basic accounting, including journal entries.
  • Prior experience with payroll, time and attendance, and accounting systems software is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
