Orthopedic Associates Surgery Center - Medical Assistant (Clinical)
Our busy orthopedic ambulatory surgery center provides outpatient surgical procedures to Rocky Hill, CT and the surrounding communities.

We are looking for a Full-time (40-hour) Certified Medical Assistant in the clinical area who is team and detail oriented, and is committed to delivering excellent care to our patients.

Position is for 5 days a week (8 hrs a day, M-F), NO Weekend, NO Holidays with competitive salary & benefits package.

The Medical Assistant (MA) is an integral part of the patient care team. Under the direction of the PACU Registered Nurses, the Medical Assistant performs general clinical duties as directed. We are seeking a motivated and dependable MA to be a positive first impression for patients and visitors. Must be detail-oriented, organized, a team player, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.


Primary Functions:


  • Assist RN's in admitting patients in preoperative area
  • Provide asssitance with continuous patient flow
  • Monitor par levels and supply the preoperative areas for patient OR attire, extra linens, and other medical supplies (Glucometer test strips, needles, IV ).
  • Assist RN with recording vital signs, dressing patient, providing nourishment, and assist with ambulation.
  • Assist with patient transport via wheelchair upon discharpe from PACU
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA policies
  • Willingly perform other duties as directed by Assistant Clinical Director to accomodate deptartments needs.

Qualifications:


  • High school graduate
  • Medical Assistant certification
  • Minimum one (1) year Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Must be organized and have ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be able to work under pressure and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Comprehension of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competency in oral and written skills
  • Flexibility in varying shift (8hr shifts ranging from 6am start to 5:30pm close)
