$65,000 - $85,000


HOURS: 40 Hours***The Coordinator of Community Outreach for the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office shall follow the chain of command policy and work under the supervision of the Director and Deputy Director of Community Engagement. The function of the Coordinator of Youth Programs is to carry out all youth activities and assignments within the Community Engagement Division.


STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Shall assist in the care and supervision of all youth enrolled in the YouthAcademy and adult programs (including summer programs).
  • Shall act as a liaison with all program staff, including school department representatives, contractors or vendors in order to provide additional client services and referrals when appropriate.
  • Shall provide participants with academic guidance and counseling that will enable them to reach his/her educational and/or behavioral goals.
  • Shall develop and prepare appropriate program curriculum and standards.
  • Shall organize and facilitate educational workshops and presentations for students, families, businesses, corporations, colleges, etc.
  • Shall maintain overall quality, safety, and technical standards of the NCSO Challenge Course including, both content and activity programs, staff training and development.
  • Shall oversee training and maintenance requirements for the NCSO Challenge Course.
  • Shall represent the NCSO in a professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • Must have experience with development of alternative youth programs.
  • Prior experience required in maintaining the safety and supervision of youth.
  • Demonstrated understanding and utilization of behavior modification.
  • Familiarity with the implementation and administration of grant funding.
  • Strong computer, writing, and organizational skills.
