As a leader on the engineering team, you'll work closely with our founders, product, design, and data teams to solve a dynamic set of user problems and build robust, user-facing features to increase friendship in the world.

You are experienced.
You have 7+ years of experience in software engineering and 2+ years of engineering management experience.
You've sourced and hired amazing engineers, and you've supported a team of 6+ engineers through coaching and charting fulfilling career paths.
You care about good engineering.You know what high quality code and useful engineering processes look like.
You can be a thoughtful technical voice and can support your team in making diligent architecture decisions, with an eye towards exponential growth and simple systems that can scale from a few thousand users to millions.
You're a strong communicator.
You're a strong written and verbal communicator; you can capture the essence of complex situations quickly and communicate them to technical and non-technical partners.
You like to ship and have a bias towards getting things done. You thrive in fast paced environments and view ambiguity as an opportunity to lead Clubhouse closer to its mission.

You'll build and support the backend team.
You'll work with our recruiting team to build an incredible engineering team.
You'll guide the development of our infrastructure and backend systems and help the team turn product vision into a tangible roadmap each month.
You'll collaborate closely with the iOS and Android engineering managers and contribute to processes that drive shipping velocity.You'll work collaboratively and help shape product strategy.
You'll work closely with a talented group of engineers, product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand user problems and co-create product solutions.
You'll lead and define technical strategy and roadmaps.
You'll work closely with your team and cross-functional stakeholders such as product, finance, and trust & safety to identify, drive, and execute against high impact opportunities such as cost efficiency, performance, and user safety.

This position is fully remote, and includes competitive base pay, a comprehensive health benefits package, company equity, 401k, plus additional benefits and stipends.
The salary for this position is between $242,000 and $268,000.It may vary based on the applicant's level of experience, education, specialized knowledge, skills, and the market rate for similar positions.
The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.As an early team member at Clubhouse you will be a critical voice and have significant influence over the direction of the company.
