: The main focus of the Patient Services Check-Out staff is to deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to the success of the practice by ensuring accurate patient and exam information, maintaining precise reporting, and fostering positive patient communication.


CRUCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: To excel in this role, one must satisfactorily carry out each essential duty.

  • Uphold exceptional customer service standards
  • Welcome patients in a warm and professional manner
  • Efficiently manage patient check-out by verifying documentation, processing payments, filing claims, coordinating insurance matters, scheduling referrals, and accurately updating EHR
  • Complete end-of-day tasks such as balancing cash drawer, processing deposits, rectifying data discrepancies, and submitting reports for verification
  • Manage patient flow in the office and keep patients informed of any delays
  • Address patient queries related to billing, procedures, policies, and services
  • Evaluate and assist in the integration of new technology and equipment
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic office environment
  • Adhere to confidentiality policies as per HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor organizational processes for compliance with policies and regulations as outlined by relevant agencies
  • Demonstrate dedication to Standards of Care and Vision for Life principles
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the office manager and doctor(s)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending on patient volume and flow, you may need to perform the following tasks.

  • Gather patient medical history and input data into EHR
  • Address patient inquiries regarding medical procedures and medications

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in health science, math, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Preferred experience in medical office operations and knowledge of medical coding/billing
