JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Project Manager/Estimator

Capital Pump & Equipment-is a fast-growing Pump Rental Company in the western United States that is seeking a talented and experienced Project Estimator to join our team. As a Project Estimator, you will be responsible for providing cost estimates for a variety of pump rental projects, including turnkey sewer bypass pumping, water transfer, dewatering, and HDPE pipe fusion. You will also work closely with the sales team and branch managers to develop and submit proposals, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and generate project schedules and budgets.


RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES

  • Provide accurate and timely cost estimates for CPE Projects Team
  • Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project to determine scope of work and labor, equipment and material costs.
  • Work closely with the sales team and branch managers to develop and submit proposals
  • Coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure that project requirements are met
  • Generate project schedules and budgets
  • Generate proposals and be able to qualify bid with necessary notes and exclusions
  • Monitor and track project costs
  • Attend client prebid meetings, visit job sites, and keep a record of verbal information from the client during the prebid meeting.
  • Ensure that projects are completed within budget and on time
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Perform takeoffs of construction documents and input into estimating software
  • Prepare cost estimates from the clients RFQ document or bid packages.
  • Coordinate estimate handoff on successful pursuits. Organize all relevant estimate information and lead handoff meetings to pass relevant information to operations team.

QUALIFICAITONS, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 510 years of experience in the pump rental industry or heavy civil construction
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline construction, sewer line, water line, sewer rehabilitation, and trenchless technology (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as part of the team
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with construction estimating software (B2W, Heavybid, Excel etc.)
  • Proficiency using Bluebeam Revu
  • Familiar with Microsoft Project or other CPM Scheduling Software
  • Detailoriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work extended hours as required by workload
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Must pass preemployment drug screening
  • Must clear E-Verify verification (per AZ State Mandate)
  • Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or adequate work experience
years industry experience

  • Experience with construction estimating such as B2W, HCSS Heavy Bid or similar Experience and capability estimating municipal work

This is a full-time position. Some travel may be required.


The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.

This person must be able to pass a drug screen prior to hiring, you will also have to provide your driver's license to perform a Motor Vehicle Records background check.
