Job Purpose

A Prove up Inspector is responsible for performing the NDT inspection method (UT) in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

This position is responsible for ensuring that all materials inspected meet the quality standards set by SeAH Steel USA, LLC.

This position will require working within the organization's goals and team structure and contribution to the Overall Safety Program.

Duties & Responsibilities

Calibrate and properly use the proveup equipment (Shearwave UT).
Organize and report results proveup inspection.
Accurately fill out/record applicable paperwork
Perform all applicable inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC1A and API and internal procedures.
Proveup pipe that needs further evaluation ensuring material is properly identified and segregated.
Understanding and working knowledge of handheld shear wave, digital thickness compression wave, AC yoke, dye penetrant, handheld micrometers, and visual inspection
Calibrate and properly use the proveup equipment (Shearwave UT).

Qualifications / Competencies

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Years of Experience:
1 year of experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry.
Job Knowledge:
Level II certificate on UT.
Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry.
Successful completion of prescreen drug test and physical.
Familiar with requirements of ASNT SNT TC1A.
Personal Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Safety:
Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

Loosefitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
Ability to see 2020 when corrected.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
