• Develops and implements facility improvement plans.
• Creates schedules and oversees a preventive maintenance program to ensure optimal operating performance of school systems.
• Leads the facilities team during emergency situations.
• Develops procedures to establish standard work methods.
• Collaborates with building administrators on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Responds to emergency calls related to buildings or school premises, including after regular school hours.
• Oversees all major construction projects.
• Maintains grounds to promote a safe and healthy environment, including playgrounds and equipment inspections and maintenance per code requirements.
• Prepares and implements snow removal regulations.
• Ensures compliance with environmental regulations, including recycling, waste disposal, and electronic equipment disposal.
• Collaborates with state and local authorities to ensure schools meet Life Safety Code requirements.
• Oversees EPA programs, including asbestos compliance, water testing, radon monitoring, and hazardous waste control.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by maintaining operating budgets within yearly budgeted amounts.
• Maintains an inventory and recommends purchases of suitable supplies, tools, equipment, and fuel.
