Winchester Public Schools is seeking a.5 Assistant Principal at Lincoln Elementary School.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • DESE Principal/Assistant Principal license
  • Experience in teaching and school administration for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching, learning, assessment, and instructional technology tools, and resources.
  • Proficient in the use of technology for teaching, learning, assessment, and data analysis

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Creates a climate of trust and critical reflection in order to appropriately engage educators in challenging conversations about student learning
  • Helps educators work collaboratively to solve problems, make decisions, manage conflict, and promote meaningful change
  • Evaluates staff in conjunction with Building Principal
  • Supports and provides leadership to teachers in the development and implementation of their individual goals and their professional development
  • Provides training and coaching for staff
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring of staff
  • Communicates effectively
  • Promotes the care of the building and grounds
  • Enforces observance of school laws and regulations, practices, fire drills, and enforce health and safety regulations.
  • Works collaboratively with all teachers and staff to create a master teaching schedule
  • Facilitates improvement in instruction and student learning
  • Collaborates with educators based on observation of instruction, examination of student work, and review of assessment data and helps make connections to researchbased effective practices
  • Provides training on differentiated instruction and assessment strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Coordinates the development, implementation and ongoing assessment and revision of curriculum in consultation with the building and district administrators
  • Increases the capacity of educators to identify and use multiple assessment tools aligned to state and local standards
  • Collaborates with educators in the design, implementation, scoring, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data to improve educational practice and student learning
  • Identifies and uses appropriate technologies to promote collaborative and differentiated professional learning and planning
  • Keeps current on best practices in education and uses information and research about emerging education, economic, and social trends in planning and facilitating professional learning
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 193 days

**REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Elementary Literacy Coordinator
