- Maintain payroll files;
- Enter all W4 tax changes, direct deposits, union dues deductions and credit union deductions, and CORE password resets;
- Complete new hire profiles in CORE including tax information, direct deposit and retirement deductions;
- Maintain new hire spreadsheet;
- Verify working groups and leave plans and comp plans in CORE;
- Manage, organize and file the paper and electronic employee payroll files;
- Process separated employees, and maintain spreadsheet;
- Assist payroll officer with self-service groups by checking timesheets for accuracy and completeness, emailing employees for adjustments and approver to approve time;
- Run time and labor reports;
- Maintain office filing and prepare end of year archive boxes for storage;
- Run reports for 1199 PL adjustments and enter accruals;
- Receive all PAF's, verify in job data and maintain PAF spreadsheet and distribute PAF's to payroll clerks;
- Distribute FMLA paperwork to clerks;
- Manage and distribute DDS timesheet mailbox;
- Process office work order;
- Assist payroll unit in various duties;
- Perform related duties as required.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of general clerical functions or for carrying out responsibility for the flow and completion of clerical work in an assigned area.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Performs the full range of general clerical duties as described in the following areas:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of general clerical work experience.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one/half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Persons having responsibility for supervising or observing the behavior of inmates or custodial individuals will be required to possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certification by the time of permanent appointment.
