Job Summary:


This position serves as Academic Advisor in the School of Communication, assisting students with academic, career, and professional guidance and other responsibilities as assigned.


Salary Rate / Pay Rate:

Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience, combined with an excellent benefits package


Required Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree
  • Professional experience in university level instruction
  • Comfortable speaking to large audiences
  • Demonstrated interest in providing support to students, including developmental academic advising and career counseling

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Communication
  • Working knowledge of student advising systems
  • Prior experience in higher education setting

Work Hours:

Office setting. The core work hours of this position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Position occasionally requires work beyond regular office hours.


Functional Expectations:

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Remain at a workstation for extended periods
  • Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete day-to-day work
  • Effectively communicate on a daily basis
