    Job DescriptionProcurement Manager

    Vanguard Renewables is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Our closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related "value-added" products. Our head office is in Weston Massachusetts, and we are funded by institutional capital partners. We currently have over twenty projects in development operating in over thirteen States. We have a plan to continue to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.

    The Procurement Manager is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the procurement department. This includes inspiring the team with your leadership and working with the executive leadership team to drive the strategy with the organization.

    Responsibilities
    • Oversee and manage the procurement team.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and strategies.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure quality, cost- effectiveness, and timely delivery.
    • Identify potential liabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
    • Collaborate with other business units to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department and across the organization.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Prepare and present procurement reports and analysis to senior management.
    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies.
    Skills and Qualifications
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field
    • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
    • Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
    • Proven experience leading a team.
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Excellent analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving.
    • Ability to make strategic decisions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Familiarity with procurement software, Microsoft suite, Procore, Oracle, Intranet, and Bluebeam
