Manager of Talent Acquisition

Philip's Academy Charter School of Paterson (Philip's Academy), seeks a skilled professional as its Manager of Talent Acquisition (MTA) to drive our mission through diverse, inclusive, equitable, and liberating talent related practices. Philip's Academy of Paterson is committed to a talent strategy that effectively recruits, onboards, develops, manages, and retains diverse and representative talent for our school community. The MTA will provide leadership and strategic thinking in promoting a talent recruitment and retention strategy.

Mission:

The mission of Philip's Academy Charter school of Paterson (PACS) is, we will provide a moral and rigorous education to a diverse student body, accomplished in a hands-on, technology infused educational environment that embraces differentiated instruction and individual attention that will allow our students to attend college, while developing a commitment to global citizenship, environmental sustainability, and personal virtue.

Reports Directly To: Chief Executive Officer

Roles and Responsibilities:


1.


Recruitment:

a. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified educators, administrators, and support staff.

b. Collaborate with school leadership to identify staffing needs and create comprehensive job descriptions.

c. Utilize various channels, including online platforms, job fairs, and community outreach, to

culture and values.

Onboarding:

a. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the school

community.

b. Coordinate orientation sessions to familiarize new staff with the school's mission, policies,

and procedures.

c. Collaborate with Human Resources staff to support the completion of necessary paperwork,

background checks, and other onboarding requirements.

d. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure new hires receive necessary training and

resources.

Development & Engagement:

a. In collaboration with Human Resources personnel, identify professional development

opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

b. Coordinate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to address specific professional

growth needs.

c. In collaboration with Human Resources personnel, support educators in pursuing relevant

certifications or advanced degrees that align with the school's objectives.

d. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the school

community.

e. Organize events throughout the school year to engage staff (Staff Gatherings, Staff

Appreciation, etc )


4. Management
a. Manage the recruitment budget and optimize spending to achieve the best outcomes.

b. Maintain accurate records of recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring compliance

with state regulations.

c. Collaborate with hiring managers and department heads to understand staffing

requirements and address any challenges.

d. Use data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make

recommendations for improvement.

e. Conduct needs assessments and staff surveys to promote continuous improvement.


5. Retention
a. Develop and implement retention strategies to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.

b. In collaboration with Human Resources personnel conduct regular check-ins with staff to

identify and address concerns, providing necessary support.

c. Collaborate with school leadership to create a supportive work environment that values

diversity and inclusion.

d. Analyze turnover data to identify trends and implement initiatives to improve retention.


Qualifications:


  • Passion for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Liberation (DEIL)
  • Experience in talent acquisition or recruitment required
  • Nonprofit and/or educationrelated experience is strongly preferred
  • Deeply familiar with key social media venues (Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Tiktok, etc.)
  • Strong design aesthetic able to produce polished, onbrand materials that appeal to the
  • Outstanding organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines seamlessly
  • Ability to communicate information to a variety of stakeholders clearly and effectively
  • Resultsoriented, flexible team player who is dedicated to getting the job done
  • Possess the confidence, grace, and humility to advocate for new ideas, dottedline manage senior peers, and execute administrative tasks
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in the areas of operations, finance, facilities, and technology
  • Robust analytical skills, with an ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of productivity software.
  • Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month employee.
