- Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach
- Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by our specific products
- Demonstrate products to existing/potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs
- Provide high-quality customer service to accounts who have questions by means of phone calls, emails, and/or in-person meetings
- Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential
- Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
- Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
- Secure opportunities to quote on customer requirements
- Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
- Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel)
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms
- Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations
- Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements
- Maintain customer records, using automated systems
- Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained, and submit orders for processing
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products
- All other duties as assigned
- Must possess sales experience within the commercial roofing and/or coatings industry.
- Possession of at least a high school diploma is required and a post-secondary degree is preferred.
- Must successfully pass all required background screenings and obtain the requisite security clearance(s) to gain access to locations which require more stringent background scrutiny (example: military bases/installations).
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).

The responsibility of the Bitec Territory Sales Manager is to represent Bitec to all customer accounts in a protected geographical territory. As a Bitec Territory Sales Manager, you are your own boss researching territories; planning and implementing strategies; and developing, expanding, and servicing a base of business. You will work with a team of Bitec Territory Sales Managers, and engineers, designers, and affiliate companies; to provide best-in-class solutions and products for the building envelope.
