Duties:


  • Lead own efforts and those of the Sourcing team through defined reviews ensuring that the process is executed according to company policies and procedures;
  • Organize and execute the individual strategy for each procurement effort;
  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives; formulate policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and service; monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in evaluating the best approach to the market, gathering the required information from the company;
  • Request unit and communicate the progress of the procurement to the Director of Procurement and the end user "client";
  • Compose contracts through standard components (scope, general conditions, etc.) or modified components according to the exceptions and work done together with specialists;
  • Interface with multiple specialists, externally and internally and extract the essence from each specialists' "language" in order to secure the most valuable options and features;
  • Carefully and completely document the procurement process to allow transparency and traceability throughout;
  • Conduct fair but firm contract negotiations to achieve the best value procurement for the company including elements such as price, terms, schedule and any other specific details that may be applicable;
  • Find compromises and solutions to drive negotiations to a close under time pressure;
  • Book contracts/issue purchase orders using the company's ERP/SRM system;
  • Prepare and issue all relevant procurement reports on a regular basis throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Assume responsibility for the financial and contractual outcome of the Procurement processes;
  • Work to ensure that each procurement process meets the standards for fairness and openness of competition, vendor turnover and maintain the independence of Procurement's role within the company;
  • Participate in vendor relationship management, including general communications and regular meetings, lead the vendor qualification processes, maintain and improve vendor and market knowledge and updating the company's vendors' database with new vendors and measurement of existing vendor performance. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.

Requirements:


  • The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Engineering (Any), or a related analytical or technical field plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as a Purchasing Agent or Sourcing Manager.
Position also requires demonstrable experience with each of the following:

  • Negotiating construction contracts;
  • Negotiating contracts for utility, independent power producer, or other capital intense industry;
  • Interpreting risks related to terms and conditions of contracts;
  • Working knowledge of intermediate to advanced legal terms applicable to supply, services, and works contracts;
  • Using ERP systems including SAP MM and WeBuy;
  • Working on renewable energy or utility project development, and knowledge of various renewable energy technologies including generation equipment;
  • Auctions, reverse auctions, and electronic marketplaces;
  • Managing relationships with large and sophisticated suppliers; and
  • Working with multicultural, geographically diverse, and multidisciplinary team members. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
