    About the Role
  • As a Spanish Bilingual Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our young learners. This dynamic position is designed to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students not only develop academically but also embrace cultural diversity and bilingualism.

Essential Skills and Responsibilities:


  • Bilingual Instruction: Deliver engaging and culturally responsive bilingual instruction, ensuring that language development is promoted for both English and Spanishspeaking students.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, recognizing and accommodating different learning styles and abilities.
  • Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. Effectively manage behavior using proactive and constructive approaches.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and adapt curriculum materials to align with language acquisition goals and state standards, integrating the latest educational research and methodologies.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Utilize formative and summative assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback. Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

Foster strong partnerships with families and the local community, encouraging parental involvement in the educational process and maintaining open communication channels. Professional Growth: Engage in continuous professional development, staying abreast of current trends in education and incorporating best practices into teaching methods. Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate Middle School endorsement and Bilingual Education Teacher-Spanish endorsement; OR Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) with a Transitional Bilingual Educator (TBE) endorsement in Bilingual Education Teacher-Spanish. Bicultural awareness of both Spanish-speaking countries and mainstream English-speaking community


Experience / Knowledge:


  • Fluent verbal and written Spanish and English skills.
  • Knowledge of the Illinois Learning Standards (CCSS
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement the RtI process and tiered instruction and interventions.
  • Teaching experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring.
  • Experience in middle school is preferred.
Preferable recent experience in the sought position.


Physical Requirements:


  • Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
